Travel Essentials for the Tahoe Traveler

Oftentimes, especially when traveling off the beaten path, you’ll find yourself provided with shampoo but no conditioner. Fortunately, at the Made in Tahoe festival, I came across Truckee-based Quench Alp dry shampoo and conditioner bars, which are available in 0.65-ounce travel sizes and 1.8-ounce full versions. I bought the Tahoe Blue conditioner bar for a trip to Sumatra, and it came in handy. Three weeks into the vacation, I was staying in a bungalow at the edge of the jungle and desperately needed to wash off after a sweaty trek to see orangutans. The shower had a bottle of shampoo but no conditioner, so I busted out the Tahoe Blue bar. The nourishing hair treatment made with avocado oil, cocoa butter and rice proteins left my hair feeling silky and smooth while the pine needle, peppermint and cedarwood atlas oil scents transported me straight back to Tahoe— even as monkeys were having a dance party on our tin roof.
